Hey, I'm Inayat

welcome to my corner of the internet:)

Portrait of Inayat Kang

Integrated Engineering @ UBC · Schulich Leader · based in Calgary · focused on healthcare tech & robotics

I’m a builder who's passionate about creating positive change through technology and empathy-driven innovation. I believe the future is something we actively create, by imagining what could exist and building the pieces that are missing.

I’m constantly challenging myself to step beyond my comfort zone, learn from new perspectives, and approach problems through a curiosity and creativity lens. Through robotics, drones, neurotechnology, and intelligent systems, I’m exploring how technology can bridge the gap between engineering and medicine to create more human-centered solutions.

I’m optimistic about the future and working on building it.

What I'm exploring now

Building, researching, studying — and one book shaping how I think.

Studying

Integrated Engineering at UBC

I like asking questions that don't have obvious answers, and those questions rarely belong to just one field. Integrated Engineering gives me the flexibility to explore them through project-based learning by merging different engineering fields.

Entering second year
Building

Teleop Surgical Robotic Arm

Building and programming a robotic surgical arm using customized LeRobot and ESP32 hardware to bring specialized surgical capabilities closer to rural communities.

Somewhere between “this is going to be amazing” and “why isn’t anything working?”
Researching

HPV Lateral Flow Assay

Currently working at the WEBIT lab, designing lateral flow assays with carbon quantum dot fluorescence tech to detect HPV and prevent cervical cancer.
